I stumbled across this video and thought that parents as well as teens should know about it. A TV series that inspires youth to understand money as well as business. I think it is a great idea.

BizKid$ is produced by the Emmy Award-winning creators of the PBS/Disney series "Bill Nye the Science Guy". The creators' vision is to produce at least 39 half-hour episodes of BizKid$ to educate children and their families about personal finance. The show would initially be scheduled to air once a week on PBS stations in markets from Seattle to Rochester, N.Y. Once enough episodes are produced to begin a daily rotation, the show would be presented to air every weekday in a suggested time slot throughout the PBS system.

I have not seen any episodes yet, but from the promo video I think it would keep a lot of young teens attention and they would be learning invaluable financial knowledge. Check it out and send this blog to anyone you think would benefit from it.

If you are a Non-Profit or are promoting Financial Literacy in any way, you should watch this webcast of the Financial Literacy & Education Summit 2007. There is also an audio podcast that you can download to your Ipod (That is what I did) if you are too busy to sit in front of a screen for 45 minutes. That way you can listen to it while you are driving or working out.

As the president of My-Financial Network.com I feel it is my responsiblity to do everything I can to promote financial literacy. I have founded a non-profit corporation called Future Leaders of the World (F.L.O.W.). We will be applying for 501(c)(3) status very soon.

Our mission is to promote and foster the advancement of education in regards to Financial literacy, Leadership and Positive life skills, by providing resources, support and training that will educate and empower today's underprivileged youth and their families to develop rewarding lives and prepare them for their future.

F.L.O.W. is working to develop programs like the:

• Youth Leadership Program (Encourages participation on the Board of Directors as well as other Leadership activities and decisions)
• Mentor a Future Leader Program
• As well as developing an educational curriculum and providing resources, classroom and online instruction.
